Several deepsea container vessels and feeders sail from Amsterdam to ports across the world. The Port of Amsterdam is thus becoming an ever more important player in the container market in Northwest Europe, providing excellent facilities and space for growth.

Container terminals

United Stevedores Amsterdam - multipurpose terminal, handles all types of cargo like containers, RoRo, break bulk and project cargo. Deap sea quay length 550 m, coaster quay length 150 m, container depot of 40.000 m2 / 20.000 containers.

Amsterdam Container Terminal - indented berth handles containerized and non-containerized break bulk (up to 135 metric tonnes), vessel operational from both sides, no use of a floating crane, capacity of 9 post-panamax cranes, less than 250 handling moves per large vessel per hour. Marginal berth is 615 meter long, 5 gantry cranes of the indented berth can travel to the marginal berth to operate on the vessels alongside. Total capacity of the terminal is 1.200.000 TEU.

Container Stevedoring IJmuiden - situated outside the sea locks in the middle of the center of the fish industry and offshore district in  IJmuiden, handling and storing of full and empty containers, provides reefer- and offshore container services and short sea handling facilities for surrounding industry, daily barge shuttles to our USA deep sea terminal in Amsterdam and terminals in Rotterdam and Antwerp, coaster and barge quay length 340 m, container depot of 2,000 m2.
